Mchezo digitises the traditional rotating savings model known across East Africa, giving it formal structure, financial guardrails, and a digital interface. The platform has two financing paths: one where the group saves to meet a deposit threshold and a bank covers the remaining 70%, and one where the group funds smaller assets entirely from member contributions with no bank required. The mobile app UI was designed across the onboarding, group creation, and dashboard flows, including the product marketplace and round tracking interface.
