Brian Biamah

I am a product and UX designer based in Nairobi, Kenya. I started designing in 2010 when I co-founded a creative agency, now called Malsery, and have been doing it ever since. Over 15 years I have designed more than 40 digital products across fintech, proptech, edtech, payments, and social impact, working across African and international markets.

I am most comfortable operating as the only designer on a team. I work end-to-end from research and information architecture through to high-fidelity UI and developer handoff. I am used to making sound decisions under real constraints: tight timelines, greenfield products with no prior users to interview, and engineering teams I am building a relationship with as the project moves.

A lot of my work has been shaped by the specific realities of African markets: designing for M-Pesa payment flows, offline-first connectivity requirements, users who are accessing formal financial products for the first time, and contexts where trust is the primary design problem before usability even enters the picture.

I am currently a Product Designer at Black Swan, an AI fintech in Tanzania whose credit scoring platform won the 2025 MEST Africa Challenge, and continue to lead client engagements through Malsery. I am open to full-time remote product design roles globally.
