Finding funding should not require a full-time researcher

Grant Link is a web platform that centralises grant funding opportunities for NGOs across Africa, replacing scattered manual research with a structured, searchable database built on a credits-based access model.

Refined is a fundraising consultancy that helps NGOs and startups across Africa find and secure funding. Having built up a database of grant opportunities through their own client work, and hearing consistently from clients how difficult the research process was, they came with a brief to turn that database into a product. Grant Link is the result: a curated, filterable platform where organisations can browse opportunities for free and use credits to unlock full details, eligibility criteria, funder profiles, and application guidance. The credits model was chosen deliberately over subscriptions to match the irregular cadence of grant cycles and give NGOs flexible, pre-paid access without locking them into recurring fees. I designed the full product across the public-facing experience and the admin backend: the homepage, opportunity listing and detail views, the credits purchase and unlock flow, registration and sign-in, the organisation profile, saved opportunities, and the consultation request form. On the admin side: the dashboard, opportunity management, bulk import, user management, credit transaction log, categories, audit log, and all empty and error states. The design system is clean and light, with teal as the primary accent and a consistent set of modals, toasts, and inline confirmation patterns used across both sides of the product.
